Give your customer a clear, itemized receipt for a sale or payment you received. Use it at a craft fair, for a tutoring session, a bake sale or a small shop without a register. Print on a regular page or on thermal receipt paper.

What the receipt shows

Your business name and address, a receipt number, the date and time, each item with its quantity and price, then the subtotal, any discount, sales tax and the total. It also shows how the customer paid. When you enter the amount paid in cash, the receipt shows the change due as well.

Choose a format

• Full page: US Letter or A4, good for emailing as a PDF or filing.
• 80 mm receipt paper: the most common width for receipt printers.
• 58 mm receipt paper: the narrow width used by many portable and mobile printers.

The narrow formats grow in length to fit your items, just like a register receipt. Print them at 100% scale from your receipt printer’s print dialog.

Correct totals, every time

Amounts are added up in whole cents, so the total always matches the items exactly. A percentage discount comes off first, sales tax is calculated on the discounted amount, and other charges are added at the end.

Use it honestly

A receipt is a record of a real transaction. Use this tool only for sales and payments you actually made or received, with accurate amounts. Each receipt says it was issued by the business named at the top. This website doesn’t process payments and doesn’t verify transactions.

Tips

• Number receipts in order (R-1001, R-1002…) to make bookkeeping and refunds easier.
• Save a PDF copy of every receipt you issue.
• Use the footer for your return policy or a thank-you message.

Is my information stored?

No. The receipt is created in your browser and isn’t uploaded to this website.

Can I add sales tax?

Yes. Enter your rate as a percentage, for example 6.5. Check your local sales-tax rules for which items are taxable.
