How to print a PDF at its actual size

A printable grid is useful only when its printed size matches the file. Start by choosing US Letter or A4 in the generator, then load the same paper in your printer.

Use the downloaded PDF

Open the PDF in your usual viewer. In the print dialog choose Actual size or 100%, rather than Fit or Shrink. Disable headers and footers when printing from a browser. Review the preview for clipped edges.

Check one sheet first

Print a single page. Measure several grid squares with a ruler; measuring ten squares is easier than measuring one. If the result is too small, review scaling in both the PDF viewer and the printer driver.

Leave space for printer margins

Many home printers cannot print to the edge. Use a larger margin setting in the tool instead of scaling the entire page down. For classroom batches, confirm the first copy before printing the remaining sheets.
