How to enter your list
Put one item on each line. Start a new store section with a line that ends in a colon, such as Produce: or Frozen:. Every item after it goes into that section until the next heading. You can add a quantity and a price after vertical bars:
Apples | 6 | 4.50: name, quantity and priceMilk | 1 gal: name and quantity onlyPaper towels: just the name
Your items print in the order you typed them, so you can follow the layout of your usual store from the front door to the checkout.
Estimated total
Turn on prices to see each item’s price and an estimated total at the bottom of the last page. The total is added up to the exact cent from the prices you typed. It doesn’t include sales tax, deposits or coupons, so leave a little room in your budget.
Long lists and big shopping trips
A long list continues onto extra pages automatically, and each page is numbered. Sections that run onto a new column or page are labeled “continued”, so nothing gets lost. The compact two-column layout fits about twice as many items on each page, which is handy for a monthly stock-up or a list shared by a whole household.
Blank grocery list template
Choose Blank list by store section to print eight common sections: produce, meat and seafood, dairy and eggs, bakery, pantry, frozen, snacks and drinks, and household. Each section has as many blank lines as you choose. Keep a stack on the fridge and add items as you run out.
Tips for a faster shop
- Check the fridge and pantry before you write the list, and cross off what you already have.
- Plan meals for the week first, then list the ingredients by section.
- Keep a master list of staples you buy every week and paste it in each time.
- Print on US Letter or A4 at Actual size. The compact layout also folds neatly into a pocket.
